UNISA Postgraduate Bursaries 2025
University of South Africa (Unisa) invites students to apply for Postgraduate Bursary Programme 2025 academic year.

What does the bursary fund?
The bursary covers Tuition Fees and Research Essentials for various postgraduate degrees, with specific allowances for each:
- Master’s Degree by Research: Experimental research allowance is capped at R55,000 over the first three consecutive years (with re-application required).
- Master’s Degree by Coursework: Research allowance is limited to R25,000 over the first three consecutive years (with re-application required).
- Doctoral Degree by Research: Research allowance is capped at R80,000 over the first four consecutive years (with re-application required).
- Doctoral Degree by Experimental Research: Experimental research allowance is limited to R120,000 over the first four consecutive years (with re-application required).

Please note:
- Unisa gives no guarantee that the bursary will be awarded to all eligible students, as the
bursary is subject to the availability of funds. - If a student:
o fails to comply with any of the terms and conditions of the award, and/or
o terminates their studies, their Unisa postgraduate bursary will be cancelled,
and the current year’s Unisa postgraduate bursary amount awarded will be
charged to the student’s account, which will be handed over to the Unisa
legal and finance department to affect the collection process.
